LOW LEVEL LIGHT LASER THERAPY
The application of low level light therapy (LLLT) relieves pain, reduces inflammation and edema (swelling). It promotes healing in a range of musculoskeletal pathologies. This type of light triggers biochemical changes within cells.
LLLT in the treatment of pain
Acute orthopedic conditions such as:
-ligament sprains and muscular strains
-post surgical pain
-muscular back pain
-cervical (neck) or lumbar (low back) radiculopathy (pinched nerve).
-tendinitis and bursitis
Chronic conditions such as:
-neck and back pain
-epicondylitis - tennis or golfers elbow
-carpal tunnel syndrome
-ilio-tibial band syndrome (thigh pain)
-plantar fascitis (foot pain)
-post tibial fracture surgery
-Chronic regional pain syndrome
Neurologic pain conditions such as:
-post herpetic neuralgia (shingles)
-multiple problems can achieve pain relief
LLLT is beneficial for pain relief and can accelerate the body's ability to heal itself. LLLT has a long history and strong basic science evidence which supports its use in pain management. It has few side effects and is well tolerated by the elderly.
